I built this rig 3 months ago, and she's been mining both Ethereum and ZCash (depending on which one is profitable at the time).
Setup (Roughly $1000 USD for whole setup):
2x AMD RX 480
1x AMD RX 280 (bought this one used!)
Processor AMD FX - 6300
Power Supply - Antec Gold 1000W
RAM - 8 GB DDR 3
Hard disk - 128 SSD
Yield (Zcash OR Ether)
* No overclocking - Don't want to break my cards
* Zcash Hashrate : 870 h/s ($6.66 USD/ DAY)
* Ethereum Hashrate: 60 Mh/s ($5.07)

Hey guys, I want to show you my Ether slash Zcash mining rig. It consists of AMD graphics cards. You can see the RX 480 on top. And on a bottom level, I have an older used 280 card, both all from AMD. So this can be used to mine both Zcash or Ether. And it's running Windows, and I can just remotely access it. I do have it on separate kind of, it's the same computer, but I have some graphics cards raised up. That way the heat dissipates much better. And also I have these kind of razors. So if yo...
So if you guys see, let me see here. You can see that the graphics card connects to this kind of small adapter here, and it goes down to the PCI slots down on the motherboard. So with this setup, I'm allowed to raise these graphics cards up. I also have fans, they're not turned on right now. Just, I think I didn't do that because of just some power supply issues. But they can definitely be turned on the back to kind of just blow their air out. Right now it is using just a very, very kind of basic setup here. It's the motherboard sitting on a cardboard box. It definitely works, and the cardboard box is enough to keep the motherboard from shorting out, just if it comes in contact with metal or whatnot. For a power supply, I have a Antec 100-watt power supply. It's pretty good, I would say, to get 100 watts because you're running so many graphics processors. The setup is pretty simple, and I want to share this with you guys because I'm looking to see how much interest there is for people building their own rigs. I've been talking a lot about cloud mining, and this is actual mining, like real mining at home with a very, very primitive setup. So I'm just interested if people are interested in something like this. If you guys are, I can make a guide for you guys and answer any questions you have regarding this. It is much cheaper to kind of mine at home. You get much higher hash power, but of course it does take a little bit of time to set up. And you can actually hear it's a little bit noisy. The fans are constantly on. This unit's on 24-7 a day. And you can definitely expand this to more GPUs. So you can actually see just more slots there. I can expand this and, you know, kind of build more similar rigs like this. So guys, if you guys do want to see more guides for something like this, I have a post up on Steemit. And if you guys can just upvote that, if I get 100 votes, I'm going to start making a tutorial right away. So guys, I hope you enjoyed this. I hope you guys know what mining is like now. And yeah, I hope you guys can support me and upvote my post. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.
